Dear [livejournal.com profile] caras_galadhon, as you've no doubt noticed, we've (led by [livejournal.com profile] foxrafer) thrown a virtual housewarmning party for you. Drinks and nibbles to your left and lots of love from all around. :) *squishes* ♥ ♥ ♥

I would have wanted to offer a more grand gift, but unfortunately rules regarding the mailing of actual Men of Gondor Rangers hot actors people put a stop to that. :/ So I decided to craft something that can effortlessly cross the sundering seas. A wee gift under this cut )

And on a more personal note: do I tell you that I love you often enough? Because I do. You're such a wonderful friend, and I can't thank you enough for everything. (Even the crackfic bunnies. There, I've said it. *g*)
I'm not responsible for this. No, wait, I probably am. If I hadn't said "But why is there no fic where Éomer is part horse? It'd make sense" when [livejournal.com profile] caras_galadhon mentioned fics where a member of the Fellowship is part (cuddly/dangerous/both) animal, she wouldn't have written brilliant centaur!Eomer crackfic for me, and it wouldn't have nestled in my brain only to pounce three days later.

It was like my pencil took on a life of its own. *shakes head* This is such crack, but I'm quite satisfied with the technical result. Okay, the scanning eliminated some of the shading, but I can't be bothered with fixing that right now.

What? There are weirder things out there. )

Any and all comments are more than welcome. I'm sane, I swear.

Good Omens fanart, whee! This started as a character study for a drawing I promised [livejournal.com profile] musegaarid (it's on its way, promise!), but I liked it so much I tweaked it a bit more and scanned it. Some of the details are a little wobbly, but I like the general look of it. Incidentally, this is more or less how I see Crowley and Aziraphale, age-wise at least.

Crowley and Aziraphale, quite worksafe )

Oh, and the icon is new as well.
H for Hastur this time. :) The wall didn't turn out terribly well when I scanned it, and I suspect my lines may have been a bit too fine for the scanner to pick up. The maggots were a complete pain to draw, because the swirls began to, well, swirl if you stared at them for too long.

H is for Hastur )

Photoshop and I don't share the same view on image resizing, it seems. Grr. I need to do something about the sharpness.

I'm not here, okay? I'm off studying for the n+1 exams (19th century Brit lit, contrastive grammar, North American lit and culture, business communication) I have lined up, and of course I'm diligently working on the two essays (lit theory, 5 pages & research article, 15 pages) that are due, too. Erk. I'm not quite stressed and not quite sleep-deprived, but two not-quites add up to a whole, hence I'm absentminded and lethargic. So yes, this week I will be mostly procrastinating. </Fast Show>

While I'm not here, have another piece of Good Omens fanart: This time, it's a quick ink sketch of War.
And she held her sword and she smiled like a knife. )

Comments will be replied to when I have more time and a brain that is at least partially functional.
In honour of [livejournal.com profile] tea_and_snark's birthday, I present not one, but two Tadfield Tinies. :) Happy Birthday, dear!

Back after too long a break. I'm sorry about that. Today's offering is the letter P.

[Refresh your memory of the entire tale here.]

Randomly (although tangentially related to Good Omens): am I the only one who is irked amused by the fact that Messrs. Gaiman and Pratchett misquote Tennyson? It's "abysmal sea", not "abyssal". I'm probably the last person in the world to notice this (and also a literature geek for pointing it out), but I thought I'd mention it.

I finally finished another Tadfield Tiny yesterday. (And there was much rejoicing, yay.) I'm drawing at a snail's pace, because I've suddenly become incredibly critical of my work. Never a good thing, that.

Enough blather, though. I present R is for R.P. Tyler )

Must dash. Translation theory awaits.

*sigh* Finished the [livejournal.com profile] hpvalensmut fic and sent it to the beta, and also emailed the mods and explained the delay.

Did not finish any Tadfield Tinies during the weekend as the challenge fics and various university assignments ate my time. However, I found some old sketches, and will now attempt to fill the art-shaped hole with a pencil sketch of our favourite misanthrope, Severus Snape )
(My scanner has issues with light lines and tends to skip them, but I still think this drawing looks good.)

Off home now to eat and finish the [livejournal.com profile] slashyvalentine fic.

I'm spamming the living daylights out of my journal with these drawings, aren't I? My right arm is protesting, as it doesn't like the strain of both crosshatching with a 0.05 pen and fencing. I don't know if I'll be able to finish any more drawings before Saturday, as I have two fic challenge deadlines looming (and one is already an extension), but I will try my best.

As you've probably noticed, I'm not following any specific order alphabet-wise. Call it artistic freedom ;)

Lower Tadfield Tinies, part three:
W is for Witches )

My poor Flist. There will be twenty-three more posts like this if all goes well.
I finished another picture last night, and I also touched up and resized the previous one. My hand hurt too much for me to attempt hand-lettering the Z one, so I cheated and used a similar font. Then I realized the F illustration looked a bit half-arsed, so I've re-lettered it as well. (Perfectionist? Moi?)

[EtA: [livejournal.com profile] tea_and_snark's fic/poem post is here, if you've forgotten which letter has what.]

Z is for 'Ziraphale )

If you haven't read The Lower Tadfield Tinies by [livejournal.com profile] tea_and_snark, then do so NOW. Run, don't walk.

Since I had too much time on my hands yesterday (read: I was diligently avoiding writing a reader's response on a Saussure essay for Literature Theory), I decided to try my hand at illustrating it. I've finished one, the letter F, and am working on at least two more.
As I uploaded the picture I noticed it's a little too light and fuzzy for my taste. Will fix this and post a better version.

F is for... )

EtA: There is a slightly bigger and somewhat clearer version of the drawing in this post.

I found this one loitering around on the hard drive, and thought I'd use it. It feels terribly selfish to use icons made from my own artwork, but I'm proud of that particular picture, damn it. (Btw, the original isn't blue. It was drawn in pencil, then tinted in PSP. Here is the original, here is the tinted version.)
