I haven't updated this journal in ages. Well, there's been the occasional fic post, but they don't really count.

In the past year and a half, I've become an aunt, lost a beloved grandparent, met the amazing [livejournal.com profile] caras_galadhon (whom I've known online for 14(!) years), [livejournal.com profile] brodeurbunny30 and [livejournal.com profile] ashinae in RL for the first time, been to Canada (albeit very briefly, before I headed to NZ together with [livejournal.com profile] brodeurbunny30 and [livejournal.com profile] caras_galadhon), been There and Back Again to New Zealand (where I traipsed around on LotR/Hobbit filming sites for 14 days and attended a midnight screening of BoFA in full Elf costume (Tauriel with a dash of Generic Elf Scout) as part of a Red Carpet Tours package) and attended my first ever con (HobbitCon 3 in Germany).

A few years ago, I would have made looong posts about it all (because OMFG walking on the Pelennor and walking into Mordor and seeing the Shire and visiting the Weta workshop and being at a con all on my own and meeting Mark Ferguson and Graham McTavish and Ken Stott and and and). Now? I meant to mention it at least, but didn't. And the longer I put it off, the more foolish it seemed to even write anything about it.

I'm still here, though. I may not comment much, but I'm still here. And still co-modding [livejournal.com profile] middleearthnews and [livejournal.com profile] lotr_sesa. :)

Oooooh, I'm very fiercely jealous. Good on you, and good to hear from you!

Okay, tell me the truth: is Graham McTavish as much a dish in RL as I think he is? Inquiring minds want to know... also, there's nothing foolish about writing looong reports/posts about fannish things. Or any things, really.

See, I was going to reply to this on the day you commented, and then I failed. (Aikomus, tie, helvetti, kivetys jne.) Anyway.

is Graham McTavish as much a dish in RL as I think he is?
HE IS. Omg, is he ever. He's gorgeous and a giant teddybear of a man, and his laughter made me go a little weak in the knees. (I cracked a dumb joke at the autograph table and was treated to a roar of genuine laughter.) I know I sound like a besotted fangirl, but it's because he's so lovely and kind and awesome. ♥ I was really nervous during the photo session (which was a rushed "get in, get out, there's a hundred people in line" deal due to poor planning on the con's part), and not only was he super-nice, he also pulled me into a hug which resulted in a picture where I look so delightedly smug it makes me laugh every time I see it.

Also, seeing him do The McTavish in a kilt on stage was a definite highlight. *fans self* (I think it must be on Youtube.)

I've done tons of big things that I would have normally written long blog posts about some years ago but now I can't be bothered as much--I don't know if it's the way everything's turned all microbloggingy in the past few years, or if it's simply one aspect of growing older. But nice to hear you're still alive and all that :3
